Character Design
Over the last few years, I have discovered a love for creating original characters and worlds - this eventually led to me beginning to write my own novel, which I have been using as inspiration for my designs here.
Completed - 14/10/24 This is the main character of the novel, Corpse, who has the ability to use any body as a host - including dead ones. I wanted to explore her design in more detail after creating a contact sheet.
Completed - 12/10/24 A contact sheet for Corpse. This is her first of many forms, but served as good practice of quickly creating pleasing silhouettes.
Completed - 29/07/24 Corpse's original body, that she left behind 400 years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed creating the atmosphere in this piece as well as the dramatic perspective.
Completed 27/10/24 Composition planning for the skeleton piece!
A character I created for a DnD style game created by my friend.
Completed - 24/02/24 A large scale piece that I'm still proud of in terms of detail and environment rendering.
Completed - 26/08/24 An environment study that I completed of an environment from my novel, a study and tattoo parlour belonging to my Arthur character.
Completed - 19/03/24 An environment exploration of the main setting at the beginning of my novel, an underground city called Merth.
Completed - 25/08/24 Another rendered (moody) piece of Corpse.
Completed - 21/08/24 I created this piece in order to try to practice multiple character interactions (and also to make something cute) and some dramatic lighting.
Completed - 10/08/24 I still enjoy this piece almost a year later, as it was one of the first times I managed to make my work feel a bit more three dimensional.
Completed - 04/08/24 Again, exploring two character interactions. This one feels far more stiff than the others, but I still enjoy the style and design.
Completed - 28/08/24 A creature from within the universe of my novel. I have always had a soft spot for draconic monsters, so I enjoyed just playing around with this one.
Completed - 23/03/24 A quick sketch of Corpse. Although it was older, you can begin to see her more recent design coming through (of her living appearance, not the dead one).
Completed - 29/03/24 A piece depicting a scene from my novel. The scene has since changed, but I think it still depicts a good transfer from descriptive writing to visual input, and I enjoy how the lighting also aids the story in the piece.
Completed - 19/04/24 Another mini comic I enjoyed creating. I remember the lighting giving me a little trouble, along with over-rendering - I eventually ended up simplifying the background somewhat to give me a chance at finishing the piece.
Completed - 07/01/24 A super early design of little Arthur before his (second) trauma arc.
